Personal Bio

Born and raised in Manhattan, Adam began Rocking the Boat as a volunteer project during a semester off from Vassar College and graduated from Vassar in 1996 with a focus on folklore and storytelling in American Culture. Through his work developing Rocking the Boat, Adam has received a Union Square Award for grassroots organizing, a Manhattan Institute Social Entrepreneurship Award, has been the subject of a Queer Eye for the Straight Guy episode, has been featured as a NY1 New Yorker of the Week, and is honored to be included in the inaugural class of New York City Venture Fellows. He completed the Columbia Business School Institute for Not for Profit Management Executive Program in 2009 and currently serves as the Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Bronx River Alliance.
