Janna Oberdorf leads the communications and development efforts at Echoing Green. She is a seasoned professional with 20 years of experience in communications, marketing, public engagement, and fundraising, and she is a life-long advocate for equity, with a focus on girls and women.
At Echoing Green, she leverages storytelling, strategy, and organizational development to build the organization’s brand. Additionally, in July 2020, she led and mobilized a major campaign to secure $50M in philanthropic capital for a newly launched Racial Equity Philanthropic Fund, an initiative aimed at advancing social innovation and racial equity.
Before joining Echoing Green, Janna was the Director of Communications and Advocacy at Women Deliver, a global advocacy organization working to advance the health and rights of girls and women around the world. At Women Deliver, Janna launched and led the youth program, working to build the capacity of youth advocates for gender equity across the globe. Prior to this work, she served as an editor and freelance journalist for major US magazines, newspapers, and online media outlets.
Janna is a 2016 Women inPower Fellow, a program that supports senior level women across all professional sectors, and she was named one of the 20 Young Champions for Women by The White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood.
