Bessie Schwarz is a 2016 Fellow and co-founder of Cloud To Street, an organization working to ensure that communities already vulnerable to climate change disasters have the information they need to prepare.
Cloud To Street does this through a remote sensing platform that dynamically identifies the floodplain for any community around the world within seconds and predicts who is most likely to be affected by it. Bessie will be in conversation with Roop Singh, a Climate Risk Advisor for the Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Centre. Roop works to interpret and use climate risk information in decision-making for preparedness and response. She also supports real-time extreme event attribution analyses.
