Wulan Zschocke
Associate, Capital
Wulan is an international humanitarian passionate about advancing socioeconomic equity for under-resourced communities.
Raised in Kenya by German-Indonesian humanitarians, her interests have always focused on the needs of culturally diverse populations. This led her to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Bridgewater State University, with a minor in Asian Studies, while gaining experience supporting low-income and immigrant communities in Massachusetts.
After graduating, Wulan worked with housing-insecure individuals at Breaking Ground in New York, where she deepened her commitment to empowering marginalized populations. This experience sparked her interest in the roots of resource inequality in urban environments, prompting her to pursue a Master’s in Conflict Studies & Human Rights at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. During her studies, she undertook a Research Fellowship at the Centre for Human Rights, Multiculturalism and Migration (CHRM2) at the University of Jember in Indonesia. During her term, she wrote her thesis on the relationship between indigenous communities and urban development in Indonesia.
Now back in New York, Wulan is eager to apply her expertise in systemic exclusion and international development to Echoing Green’s global initiatives. Outside of her professional life, Wulan enjoys creative pursuits such as drawing, writing, traditional Indonesian dance, and exploring pop-up galleries. She is also fascinated by linguistics and cultural anthropology.
