Social Entrepreneur Training

Our joint initiative with some of the nation’s top HBCUs provide you with knowledge of specific problem-solving frameworks, connections to the social impact field, and a pathway to a purpose-driven career.

Students should:

  • Be enrolled or affiliated with partner institutions
  • Demonstrate an interest in connecting a deeply felt purpose to a future career
  • Be committed to strengthening leadership skills with the goal of creating an equitable and sustainable world

A CURRICULUM FOR SOCIAL IMPACT SKILLS

The social entrepreneur training program at historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) focuses on developing students' leadership and understanding of the tenets of social innovation, all while sparking their ideas for change and fueling their commitment to impact.

Social Innovation Leadership Workshops

Learn about the basic pillars of social innovation—how to hone in on a specific social problem and leverage your passion and skills to tackle it head-on.

Speaker and Discussion Series

Hear from some of the leading voices within the social impact sector—including successful social entrepreneurs, funders, and professors.

Deep-dive Master Course

Dive deeper into solving a specific social challenge facing your community and refine a plan for action.

Direct Internship Experience

Get hands-on experience in social innovation by interning directly with Echoing Green social entrepreneurs.

To build a more diverse talent pipeline for social impact, Echoing Green is working in partnership with some of the nation’s top HBCUs to provide hands-on training and learning opportunities for students committed to creating an equitable and sustainable world.

With a rich history of civil rights work on campus, civic engagement remains central to the cultural fabric of HBCUs. It serves as reminder that these institutions have and will continue to produce the next generation of leaders who will engage in social change movements that impact society.
