Building on six years of successful partnership between two accomplished leaders, Echoing Green is delighted to announce a co-leadership model in which Cheryl Dorsey and Sharyanne McSwain will lead the organization together. With the full support of the Board of Directors, Cheryl will become Chief Executive Officer and Sharyanne will become President, effective July 1, 2025. Cheryl and Sharyanne will both drive Echoing Green’s success as co-leaders, with distinct roles that maximize their individual and complementary strengths.
As CEO, Cheryl will focus externally to set the vision and agenda for the organization as well as deepen relationships with Echoing Green Fellows, funders, and partners. In the newly defined role of President, Sharyanne will focus internally on the people and priorities needed to translate Echoing Green’s vision and current strategic plan into impact.
“I’ve worked closely with Sharyanne for six years, and I couldn’t be more inspired by her tremendous leadership,” said Cheryl. “Her new role is a well-earned promotion, recognizing the operational excellence and heart she’s brought to Echoing Green. I’m delighted to co-lead with her and look forward to working together to expand Echoing Green’s impact at a moment in history when it’s needed most.”

Over the last six years, Cheryl and Sharyanne’s partnership was integral to Echoing Green’s sustained success. Under their leadership, Echoing Green raised over $75 million for a targeted fund supporting underrepresented social innovators. The organization also expanded its global presence by selecting some of its most geographically diverse Fellow cohorts to date. The Fellow community grew to nearly 1,000 Fellows — a massive milestone that Echoing Green is poised to achieve in 2026.
Cheryl and Sharyanne’s complementary talents and backgrounds uniquely position Echoing Green to continue to thrive under a co-leadership model. Cheryl is a recognized leader in the field of social innovation with experience collaborating with at highest levels of government and philanthropy. Sharyanne has deep global experience spanning the financial and nonprofit sectors, including more than 30 years spent on investment banking teams in New York, Japan, and France.

This leadership transition marks a significant milestone Echoing Green’s growth.
