Development

Geneva Gleason is a development professional who loves building relationships and mobilizing resources for social change movements.

Prior to joining Echoing Green, Geneva increased funding and recognition for the women in Ashoka’s network as Global Coordinator of the Women’s Initiative for Social Entrepreneurship (WISE). Besides leading fundraising and programming for WISE, she organized virtual and in-person events held in 6 languages, including the first ever pan-African gathering of women Ashoka Fellows in Lagos. Geneva represented WISE in partnerships with organizations including Porticus, UPS Foundation, Microsoft Philanthropies, and Alwaleed Philanthropies. Her work with Ashoka was based in Egypt, where she moved in 2019 to complete the Presidential Associates Fellowship at the American University in Cairo.

Geneva earned a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction in Media Studies and Arabic from McGill University. She was an active member of Montreal’s DIY music community, volunteered with McGill Students’ Nightline, and studied abroad in Lebanon. Outside of work, Geneva loves cooking, cycling, songwriting, taking 35mm portraits of her loved ones, and maintaining her French and Arabic fluency.
